ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed proposals will be received by the Choctaw County and Washington County Commissions at the Choctaw County Courthouse Meeting Room, 117 S. Mulberry Avenue, Butler, Alabama 36904 until 2:00 PM, November 7, 2024, and thereafter opened publicly for the:
THE CHOCTAW COUNTY JAIL – BID ITEM A
BUTLER, ALABAMA
and
THE WASHINGTON COUNTY JAIL RENOVATIONS – BID ITEM B
CHATOM, ALABAMA
Project consists of the construction of a New Local Adult Detention Facility (Jail) – Bid Item A, located at the corner of E. Church Street and S. Hamburg Avenue in downtown Butler, Alabama and the Renovation of the existing Washington County Jail – Bid Item B at the Washington County Courthouse, Chatom, Alabama.
Bid documents may be examined at the Office of each of the Commissions and the Architect.
This project will consist of two Bid Items managed separately administratively and financially with each County throughout all delivery processes.
Bid Documents may be obtained from the Architect by digital access/file sharing access for a one time administrative fee of $150.00 (non-refundable; separate check), and/or deposit of $300.00 per set, which will be refunded in full on the first two (2) sets issued to each bidder submitting a bona fide bid, upon return of documents in good condition and reusable condition within ten (10) days of bid date. Issue Date for Documents will be October 15, 2024. Other sets for general contractors, and sets for subcontractors and dealers, may be obtained with the same deposit, which will be refunded as above, less cost of printing, reproduction, handling, and distribution, which is estimated to be the same as the deposit amount. Partial sets will not be available. To expedite distribution of bid documents, deposit check(s) should be emailed and mailed to JMR+H Architecture, PC, Attn: Renae Williams; 445 Dexter Avenue, Suite 5050, Montgomery, Alabama 36104; specs@jmrha.com.
Bid Award will be made to only one competent and responsible bidder for both Bid Items as mandated by Title 39 of the Code of Alabama. All bidders must be licensed under Title 34 of the Code of Alabama and evidence thereof must appear on the bid envelope or it will not be opened.
A PRE-BID CONFERENCE will be held in the Conference Room at the Choctaw County Courthouse Meeting Room, 117 S. Mulberry Avenue, Butler, Alabama 36904 on October 29, 2024 at 10:00 AM (local time prevailing) for the purpose of reviewing the project and answering Bidder’s questions. Attendance at the Pre-Bid Conference is highly recommended for all Contract Bidders intending to submit a Bid.
A cashier’s check or bid bond made payable to the Choctaw County Commission in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder’s Bid and must secure the bid for at least 60 days. Conditional bids will be rejected. List of major subcontractors must accompany the bid. Performance and Payment Bonds (if award exceeds $100,000) and evidence of insurance are prerequisites of contract award. Right is reserved by the Awarding Authority to reject all bids and to waive irregularities.

Box 146, Chatom, AL 36518 until 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, for the purchase on a per-ton basis for all timber, standing or down, on approximately 11 acres located in Section 29, Township 6 North, Range 2 West, Washington County, Alabama. Each bidder is expected to make their own cruise and to bid accordingly. Bid documents may be picked up at the Washington County Commission Office. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the MOWA Choctaw Housing Authority (MCHA) is soliciting for sealed bids for Project: RFQ-09-16-2024-001_MCHA Apartment Project, New Construction of Civil work on Choctaw Estates located on the MOWA Band of Choctaw Indians Reservation in McIntosh.
This invitation for Bid is open to selected General Contractors/Home Builders; however, the award shall be made under unrestricted solicitation to the lowest/responsive/responsible bidder using the “X” Factor tabulation (Indian Preference). The Project will be awarded to one Prime Contractor.
This project includes the new civil work on Choctaw Estates which will consist of grading, draining, paving, utility main with service stubs for water, erosion control, and permanent stabilization of all disturbed areas. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals thereto required for completion of the project. A mandatory Pre-Bid meeting will be held at the MOWA Choctaw Housing Authority, 1080 A Red Fox Road, Mt. Vernon, AL 36560 on September 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM (CT). The Request for Information (RFI) Deadline is September 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM (CT). The Project bid documents will be available on September 26, 2024. Bids are due on October 7, 2024, at the MOWA Choctaw Housing Authority by 11:00 AM (CT) at 1080 A Red Fox Road, Mt. Vernon, AL 36560, Attention: Lillie Steiner. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at the MCHA Conference Room immediately following. MCHA reserves the right to reject any or all the bids. The awarding of bids will be pending approval of the MOWA Choctaw Housing Authority.
All bids must be sealed and addressed to the MOWA Choctaw Housing Authority and plainly marked with the Bidder’s name and the Project name. Bids shall be on a Lump Sum basis per the Project documents; segregated bids will not be accepted. The Project Manual and bid documents are made a part of this Invitation for Bid.
