PROJECT NO. 22-LW-1071
TOWN OF MILLRY
WASHINGTON COUNTY, ALABAMA
SEALED BIDS WILL BE RECEIVED BY THE TOWN OF MILLRY AT TOWN HALL, 105 2ND STREET, MILLRY, ALABAMA 36558, UNTIL 1:30 PM CST, JANUARY 10, 2025, AND AT THAT TIME PUBLICLY OPENED FOR ROY CHAPMAN SPORTSPLEX RESURFACING. THE PROJECT CONSISTS OF OVERLAYING APPROXIMATELY 2,160 SQUARE YARDS OF THE EXISTING PARKING LOT WITH ASPHALT PAVEMENT.
THE PROJECT SHALL BE COMPLETED IN THIRTY (30) CONSECUTIVE CALENDAR DAYS. CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE COMPLETED BY MARCH 1, 2025. A PRE-BID MEETING WILL NOT BE HELD FOR THIS PROJECT.
A CASHIER’S CHECK (DRAWN ON AN ALABAMA BANK) OR BID BOND FOR 5% OF THE AMOUNT BID (MAXIMUM OF $3,000.00) AND MADE PAYABLE TO THE TOWN OF MILLRY MUST ACCOMPANY EACH BID AS EVIDENCE OF GOOD FAITH. IT IS NOT REQUIRED THAT A CONTRACTOR BE LICENSED IN ORDER TO SUBMIT A BID; HOWEVER, PRIOR TO AWARD OF A CONTRACT, PROPER PROOF OF ALL APPLICABLE LICENSURES MUST BE PROVIDED BY THE CONTRACTOR. PROOF OF INSURANCE COVERAGES OF THE TYPES AND AMOUNTS AS SET FORTH IN THE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS WILL BE REQUIRED OF THE CONTRACTOR, AND ANY AND ALL SUBCONTRACTORS, PRIOR TO BEGINNING WORK. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE REQUIRED TO PERFORM WORK AMOUNTING TO AT LEAST 30% OF THE TOTAL CONTRACT COST WITH HIS OWN ORGANIZATION.
THE AWARD OF THE CONTRACT WILL NOT BE MADE TO ANY BIDDER WHO, AT THE TIME OF THE AWARD, IS CONSIDERED BY THE ALABAMA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (ALDOT) TO BE DISQUALIFIED FROM BIDDING, NOR TO ANY BIDDER WHO IS AN AFFILIATE OF OR HAS A CORPORATE OFFICER, DIRECTOR, OR PRINCIPAL OWNER WHO IS A CORPORATE OFFICER, DIRECTOR, OR OWNER OF, ANOTHER PERSON WHO IS PRESENTLY DISQUALIFIED BY ALDOT. FORECLOSURE NOTICE
Default having been made in the payment of the indebtedness described in and secured by that certain Vendor’s Lien Deed executed by Allan Johnson and wife, Angela Johnson, to Linda Diane Sheppard, which said vendor’s lien deed is dated March 2, 2022 and filed for record March 16, 2022, and recorded in Deed Book 597 at Page 312 in the Office of the Judge of Probate of Washington County, Alabama, and said default continuing, notice is hereby given that the undersigned as holder of said deed, by virtue of the power of sale contained therein, will sell at public outcry, for cash to the highest bidder, between the legal hours of sale at 12:00 noon on the 3rd day of January, 2025, at the front door of the Washington County Courthouse in Chatom, Alabama, the following described real property in Washington County, Alabama, being the same property described in said deed, to-wit:

In accordance with Chapter 1, Title 39, Code of Alabama, 1975, notice is hereby given that Mitchell’s Contracting Services, Inc., P.O. Box 187, Catherine, AL 36728 has completed all work on the McIntosh Boat Ramp Parking Lot Repaving Project 65-WFF-30 and have made request for final settlement of said Contract. PUBLIC NOTICE
Failure to Submit Initial Service Line Inventory
Millry Water Works was required to submit an initial service line inventory, as required by EPA’s Lead and Copper Rule Revisions, to the ADEM by October 16, 2024. The inventory included all service lines connected to the system regardless of ownership as well as other information. We failed to meet the required date for the service inventory and submitted our inventory to ADEM on October 17, 2024.
Exposure to lead in drinking water can causse serious health effects in all age groups. Infants and children can have deceases in IQ and attention span. Lead exposure can lead to learning and behavior problems or exacerbate existing learning and behavior problems. The children of women who are exposed to lead before or during pregnancy can have increased risk of these adverse health effects. Adults can have increased risks of heart disease, high blood pressure, kidney, or nervous system problem.
Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who have not received this notice directly. You can do this by posting this notice in public notice or distributing copies by hand or mail.
Millry Water Works tested the water system for lead and copper in September 2024. All samples were within the limits provided by EPA and ADEM, therefore, all water provided by this system is safe for consumption. The next set of samples will be collected and tested by September 2027.
