Sealed Bids for the construction of the Millry Park Improvements will be received by The Town of Millry on or before 1:30 P.M. CST, July 11, 2024, at the office of the Millry Town Hall, 105 2nd Street, Millry, Alabama 36558, and publicly opened immediately thereafter.
The Project consists of the following major components: The design, fabrication, and construction of an open-air pavilion approximately 40’x60’, steel structured, covered, to be constructed at the Roy Chapman Park in Millry, Alabama. Project also includes the design and construction of appropriate footings and foundation, and construction of a reinforced concrete slab for the pavilion.
A pre-bid conference will not be held for this project. The cutoff for questions will be June 28, 2024, at 5:00 PM CST.

Each Bid must be submitted on the prescribed form and accompanied by security submitted on the prescribed Bid Bond form in an amount not less than five (5%) percent of the amount bid but not more than $10,000.00.
All Contractors are required to provide certification of compliance with the E-Verify program per Alabama Act 2012-491. The project will be funded with American Rescue Act Plan (ARPA) grant funding.

WASHINGTON COUNTY HAS BEEN AWARDED FEDERAL FUNDS MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS)/FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA) UNDER THE EMERGENCY FOOD AND SHELTER NATIONAL BOARD PROGRAM.
Washington County has been chosen to receive $3,108 (Phase 41 – State Set-Aside) Emergency Food and Shelter funding to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county, helping to expand their capacity.
The selection was made by a National Board that is chaired by the U. S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency and consists of representatives from American Red Cross; Catholic Charities, USA; National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA; The Jewish Federations of North America; The Salvation Army; and United Way Worldwide.
A Local Board will determine how the funds awarded to Washington County are to be distributed among the emergency food and shelter programs run by local service agencies in the area. The Local Board is responsible for recommending agencies to receive these funds and any additional funds available under this phase of the program.
Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, local agencies chosen to receive funds must: 1) be private voluntary nonprofits or units of government, 2) be eligible to receive Federal funds by having a Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number and Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN), 3) have an accounting system, 4) practice nondiscrimination, 5) have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs, and 6) if they are a private voluntary organization, have a voluntary board. Qualifying agencies are urged to apply.

Robert C. Tate, P.O. Box 1059, Chatom, Alabama, is required by ADEM to implement a Corrective Action Plan for remediation of soil and/or groundwater which has resulted from a release from an underground storage tank located at Tate’s Service Center, Inc., 17194 Jordan Street, Chatom, Alabama. The site is identified as Facility I.D. Number 22011-129-005218 and Incident Number UST21-05-01. The proposed remediation methods include remediation by natural attenuation, dedicated multiphase extraction, and air sparging.
Copies of the Corrective Action Plan Evaluation for Tate’s Service Center are available for public inspection electronically via http://adem.alabama.gov/newsEvents/publicNotices.cnt and at the following location Monday – Friday (except legal holidays), 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
