Earliest Retirement Date: On or After September 18, 2026
Millry Telephone Company, Inc. hereby provides public notice that it plans to retire portions of its copper telecommunications network facilities in the Chatom, Alabama wire center (CLLI: CHTMALXA) and in associated service areas. This network change involves the removal of legacy copper distribution plant and the transition of affected locations to fiber?based facilities.
The copper facilities scheduled for retirement serve portions of the Frankville, Bladon Springs, Chatom, Williamsville, Hobson, Rutan, and Yarbo communities in Washington County, Alabama.
Most customers in the affected areas will be migrated from copper to Millry’s new fiber?optic facilities. A small number of locations will continue to be served over existing copper facilities until fiber can be extended to those locations. No customer will be required to seek service from another provider.
The planned copper retirement will occur no earlier than September 18, 2026. Customers may be transitioned to fiber facilities earlier if fiber service becomes available before the planned retirement date.
This notice is provided in accordance with the Federal Communications Commission’s network change disclosure requirements for copper retirements. Additional information about this network change is available upon request.

Notice is hereby given that a hearing before the Department of Environmental Management of the State of Alabama will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Main Hearing Room at the ADEM – Central Office location at 1400 Coliseum Boulevard in Montgomery, to consider proposed revisions to Division 335?6 of the ADEM Administrative Code (Water Quality Program Regulations).
The Alabama Department of Environmental Management proposes to amend the ADEM Administrative Code rules listed above. Additional information on the basis for these proposed rule changes can be found in the Summary of Reasons.
